Reheating Instructions

Reheating a BBQ Turkey

Allow turkey to come to room temp. by taking out of refrigerator 2-4 hours before serving.  Preheat oven to 300 deg.  Place turkey in the oven covered in foil for 30 to 40 min.  For a crispier skin you can leave the turkey uncovered for no more than 10 min.  Any longer and you may dry out the turkey.  Alternatively, you may leave your turkey out for an hour, carve it and then reheat in the microwave for several minutes or in the oven for about 15 minutes (again at 300 deg. F).

Reheating BBQ Chickens

Similar to the Turkey above, take the chicken out of the refrigerator an hour before serving and heat covered for about 20 minutes in the oven or several minutes in the microwave (covered loosely).  If you prefer your chicken more crispy you can also place it in the broiler for several minutes with the skin side down, then turn for several minutes more - watch this carefully !! or you may burn the skin.

Reheating other prepared foods

Most other prepared foods can be reheated similarly.  It's always best to take them out of the refrigerator in advance so you're not reheating an item that's very cold.  Heating times will vary with the size/weight of the item.  Remember not to put foil or other metal utensils in the microwave.

Reheating Latkes

Latkes may be heated in the oven, again at 300 deg. F, for about 10 to 12 minutes.  If you enjoy them more crispy, they can be heated in the broiler for two or three minutes on each side and turning several times.  You can also use the toaster but don't forget to clean the crumb tray after, also latkes are heavy and your toaster may not pop-up and continue to crisp your latkes until your smoke detectors start screaming.  DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM LATKES IN THE BROILER OR THEY WILL BURN - WATCH THEM CLOSELY!  same deal in the toaster - do not leave latkes unattended!
